I used to think that all tripods and stands were equal until my $50 Best Buy tripod tipped over with my Rebel XT on it. It's important to invest in quality stands that will provide the stability you need. Why chance hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars on cheap support? I plan to hold a $500 light and $100+ modifiers on this stand - there's no way I'd trust all that on the cheaper Impact 8' stands I have for my smaller hot shoe flashes.
