Let’s hear it for New York, the lights will inspire you!

Spring break is over, but I had a BLAST in NYC. Spent 4 nights in the Big Apple and enjoyed every minute of it. So much so that I am unofficially planning another trip in the fall – I’d love to see Central Park with all the colors.

Unrelated to photography, but can I just say I love my iPhone! It proved to be invaluable for getting around town with its GPS! Never got lost.

I had a hard time deciding which lens to bring, so I brought three of them – everywhere I went. The 10-22, 24-70, and 100 macro all proved to be very useful. That said, they were a PITA to carry around! So much so that I considered buying a G11 at B&H. And I totally would have if they were open! To my disappointment, it was closed. The good folks at B&H are Jewish and close for Passover. Oh well, it saved me $500…ha! While it’s a very capable and powerful compact, it’s no replacement for a good DSLR & quality glass. I probably wouldn’t have gotten half the shots with it as I did with my setup. So I guess B&H being closed was a blessing in disguise, because, even if I do say so myself, I got some amazing shots! And without further ado, here is a taste of NYC!

Also snapped some pretty cool shots on the way home!
