As much as I’d like to have a second body, I know I will benefit more if I invest my money into more lighting gear.
I plan on replacing both my Vivitar 285HV’s with LumoPro LP120’s from mpex.com. The 285HV’s are great work horses, but I don’t like that they skip levels. The 285HV’s can be set to 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/16 powers. The LP120’s can be set from 1/1 to 1/32 power without skipping any levels. This is not a huge deal, but it’s a nice feature for an extra $40 each.
Additionally, I am looking to purchase an EZYBOX softbox from Lastolite. One of my umbrellas blew over (go figure) and broke, so rather than replacing it with another umbrella (the more economical solution) I decided to step it up with a softbox.

yo wud up calvin. im curious of how good those strobes work. all my friends use the bigger strobes like the ab800 and a few other different models. i noticed the ones you use look more like speedlites. from your pictures they seem to work good as hell and the price on them is half the price of what my friends spent. would you recommend these?? word
