Andrew’s Lexus IS350
I owed (actually, I still owe) Andrew a favor, so what better than a photo shoot from me?
I really dislike shooting at sunset for a variety of reasons. For one thing, I’m not a fan of the warm golden light that the sun provides at the time. I much prefer sunrise lighting over this. The sun also seems to cast longer shadows at sunset for some reason. Or maybe it’s just my imagination. As a result, I had to shoot against the sun. It actually turned out in my favor this time. I posted this on Club Lexus and most people seemed to rather enjoy the sunset. Typically, however, I prefer to shoot with the sun behind me.
Unfortunately, I did not anticipate this photo shoot so I did not bring all my gear to SD with me. One of the key things I left at home in LA was my tripod. As a result, I had to bump up the ISO to get quicker shutter speeds. This assured me more steady shots because I had to do 3 different exposures for each image. I had to underexpose for the sun and overexpose for the car. The images didn’t turn out bad considering they are all hand held HDR shots.
