May I have your number..?

I was bored today so I decided I’d design a business card for myself. ^.^

I decided to go with something different that the typical 3.5″x2″ card. . .These will be 2″x2″ squares!

Edit: I’ve just tried printing this one on my POS home printer. It seems that the blue isn’t as bright as it appears on my monitor. In fact, no color is. I hope the professionals can get it right with their equipment! =[

My Second Customer - Marcus

Just one day after WaLLy’s shoot, I was lucky enough to shoot Marcus’s G35 Sedan.

I used to love shooting near loading docks, but this shoot has made me second guess myself. I found the reflections from the top of the buildings harsh at times. Marcus keeps the car so damn clean that the reflections are so crisp that they’re distracting.

Anyway, here are my favorite pictures from the shoot.

My First Customer - WaLLy

I had the pleasure of shooting WaLLy’s M3 last Sunday. Being my first paying customer, I was a bit nervous with regards to how the pictures would come out. I wasn’t so sure if I was worth the $25 that I charge.

I took about 300 shots in just under two hours that morning. Only a handful of them came out, but that is to be expected from a noob like me. Here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot.

This was also my first attempt with panning shots. Being my first time I am happy with the results. However, I’ve still got plenty of room for improvement. I’ve got to work on following the car more smoothly to keep it in focus better and blur the background more.

My Introduction

I started shooting in April of 2007 when I first got my Canon 350d. I have my love for cars and the many great photographers on G35Driver.com to thank for sparking my interest in photography.

Like many others, I began shooting with a simple point & shoot - a Sony DSC-W50. For what it was, the results I got out of the Sony were great - or so I thought. But my images just couldn’t compete with the big boys that were using better equipment, so I decided to step my game up and purchase a DSLR. As I became more and more comfortable with my first DSLR, a 350d, I decided to move up to a 40d as I figured this body would last me a lot longer.

By the end of Summer 2007, I finally only began to get a grasp for photography. No longer is it as simple as: aim/point; shoot; on to next target. Now there’s all this crap about shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, etc.!

Being the picture whore that I am, I got tired of shooting the same subject over and over - my car. Enter aHeroPhoto, my side business (if you can even call it that). Finally being comfortable and confident enough with my equipment, I decided that I would offer my services as an amateur photographer, for a small fee, to my fellow members of G35Driver and My350z. This gives me a chance to put my skills to the test and improve them as I go with different subjects. So far this has proven to be a very rewarding experience. I provide my customers with better than average photos of their cars and they provide me with different subjects to shoot.

And that leaves me where I am today. . .still an aspiring photog trying to make define himself.
